Mission

The goal of the Rashell Young Fellowship is to underwrite projects and initiatives which aim to help needy communities around the globe. Through the RYF and your donations, motivated UC Berkeley grad students, many of whom will be the future leaders in healthcare, can bring their ideas and passion to those in great need. From an HPV immunization project in South Africa to addressing low-income healthcare gaps in Oakland, the RYF seeks to bring the student closer to real-world healthcare challenges and leverage the drive, creativity and human capital to improve real lives now. UC Berkeley will provide the business and healthcare know-how, our mission is to provide the inspiration to make a difference.

what we do

We fund projects that focus on public health, humanitarian relief, and social enterprise, globally.
Fellows bring passion
Graduate students from UC Berkeley HaaS are some of the best in the country. Through their rigorous education and diverse background, they identify unique global problems and craft solutions to them.
RYF provides funding
The Rashell Young Fellowship turns student’s ideas into reality. Our grants cover research, travel, and seed funding. With this funding students can test, experiment, and implement their ideas.
Real Impact
The impact is certainly felt by the communities being helped but also by the fellow who, by virtue of having an incredible, human experience, is impacted as they set out on their careers.
